EUGENE, Ore. – The Eugene Police Department will run a multi-team enforcement operation on River Road on Aug. 19 to target speeding and distracted driving after six fatal crashes have occurred on the road since 2022.
EPD says they will have additional patrol officers stationed along River Road, issuing citations for excessive speeding or distracted driving, while also hoping to educate drivers on the dangers.

Gregg Magnus with the Eugene Police Department. “Just high visibility impact and hope that motorists are out there remembering that, hey, I need to slow down. I need to not talk on my phone.
