ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Seniors across the country could expect changes to their Medicare prescription drug coverage, and local experts say the worst response is to do nothing.
A federal program that capped annual increases to Medicare Part D premiums is ending one year early. Without that cap, insurance companies can raise premiums more than they have in recent years. Out-of-pocket maximums and the $35 insulin price are not changing, but monthly premiums for prescription drug plans could increase – and by how much remains unknown.
