Weather Authority Alert: Severe storm warning, hail, flooding, power outages

KTSM warned you FIRST in the market of impending severe weather. A severe complex of storms is affecting the east side and far east side with quarter size hail, heavy rain, winds in excess of 60 mph, and power outages in several east side neighborhoods.

Do not drive into flooded roadways. Yes, we will have a chance of isolated t-storms on Friday, but the severity of the storms should be not nearly as high as today’s storms. Here’s your exclusive 9-Hour Forecast for Friday.

TONIGHT:  KTSM has issued a Weather Authority Alert due to the potential for strong t-showers, heavy rain, and even hail tonight.  Unlike last night, where we saw isolated area t-storms and lightning, tonight is different.  The atmosphere is very unstable.  We have an abundance of available moisture.  All the ingredients are present for some storms to produce very heavy rain and strong winds.  The prevailing wind will be NE at 5-15 mph, and the low will drop to 75.  Area t-showers should taper off by the early morning hours…
