Buffalo woman sentenced for drunk driving crash that killed 81-year-old

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo woman was sentenced to six months in jail followed by five years of probation for a drunk driving crash that killed an 81-year-old man last December, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office said Friday.

Renaiyah A. Cornelious, 32, hit and killed Daniel H. Zuchlewski at the intersection of McKinley Avenue and Lorraine Avenue on Dec. 27, 2025. Cornelious was under the influence of alcohol and cannabis and had two children in her vehicle at the time of the crash. Zuchlewski was walking a dog through the crosswalk when he was hit; the dog was also killed as a result of the crash.

As part of the sentence, Cornelious’ driver’s license was also revoked…
