About 43 acres of West End Nashville could soon allow artisan distilleries, microbreweries, live-work units, and a theater — while capping short-term rentals and banning bars from one section of the development — as Metro Council prepares for a final vote.
According to the ordinance filed with Metro Council, the proposal would convert existing ORI, ORI-A, MUL-A, SP, and MUG-A zoning into a single Special Purpose district to permit a mixed-use development. The 43.16-acre site runs from the corner of 30th Avenue South and West End Avenue to Natchez Trace, south to 31st Avenue South, and along 31st Avenue South, Vanderbilt Place, and 30th Avenue South back to West End Avenue. The Planning Commission approved it with conditions in April, and the full Council held a public hearing earlier this month. The final vote is scheduled for September 1.
