ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — An unsettled weather pattern will continue into the weekend with daily showers and storms. The Bermuda high maintains a southerly flow over the region which will keep a deep influx of moisture present, allowing for heavy rainfall potential in storms.
Today will be hot and humid as highs warm in the 80s to low 90s under a mix of sun and clouds. Showers and storms will develop over the mountains during the afternoon and push to the northeast/east into the evening hours before coming to an end by the night.
Some storms could contain locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds. Scattered storms are expected again on Saturday with more isolated coverage on Sunday. The hear and humidity will remain, so make sure to stay hydrated for outdoor plans and stay weather aware for storms.
Temperatures will get hotter early next week as highs reach the lower 90s with continued high humidity. Daily storm chances remain with maybe a chance for heavier rain over the latter part of the week for the mountains.
