Sunny Sunday before days of rain

A beautiful end to the weekend! Once the morning fog lifts in spots, we’ll enjoy plenty of sunshine today, although elevated wildfire smoke will make the sky appear hazy at times.

Humidity levels will drop a bit this afternoon but then ramp right back up late tonight. The next system will get closer to us overnight, which may bring us a few showers or perhaps a storm by Monday morning. Many hours during the day will be dry, but watch as a couple of strong storms could develop by Monday evening.

Waves of showers and storms will continue through mid-week as a front remains nearby. The main threat will be locally heavy rain on top of already saturated grounds, although there will be a slightly higher risk for severe storms given a little more wind energy to tap into.

We should get a nice push of drier and slightly cooler air by the end of the week, which should deliver a dry start to next weekend…
