BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Families heading out for last-minute back-to-school shopping this weekend may find themselves spending more than planned, as shoppers say the cost of filling school supply lists is adding up fast.

Bri Ricks, a Southern University graduate student, said this year’s shopping trip required more price-checking than in previous years.
“It sucked the joy out of it. I love back-to-school shopping. And it’s definitely sucked the joy from it,” Ricks said.
