HOOVER, Ala. — Hoover city leaders will consider a development agreement Monday that could help bring new life to vacant retail space at Riverchase Crossings East, including what city documents say would be Alabama’s first HomeSense store.
The Hoover City Council is scheduled to consider an Amendment 772 development agreement with NRE Riverchase LLC during its Aug. 10 meeting. The agreement would provide a city incentive tied to redevelopment of property at 1773-1775 Montgomery Highway.
According to documents included with the council agenda, the project involves approximately 37,793 square feet of vacant or underused retail space, including the former Big Lots location. The developer plans to divide and redevelop the space for two retailers…
