A bicyclist was flown to Erie County Medical Center after being struck by a vehicle on Sunday.
The incident happened on Buell Street in Newstead. Emergency crews arrived at the scene shortly before noon. First responders found the injured cyclist in the roadway receiving aid from bystanders and an Akron Volunteer Firefighter, according to the Newstead Fire Company.
Newstead fire and police personnel closed Buell Road between Main Road and Skyline Drive while crews worked the scene. Given the severity of the injuries, Mercy Flight was requested, and the cyclist was flown to ECMC for further treatment…
