LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Las Vegas Metro Search and Rescue conducted two back-to-back rescues Saturday in Red Rock Canyon.
Around 12 p.m. Saturday, AIR1 responded to a report of a severely dehydrated victim, who also sustained an ankle injury in the area of First Creek. Partners from the Bureau of Land Management, the Clark County Fire Department, and Las Vegas Fire and Rescue, hiked to the injured hiker.

AIR1 responded and inserted a search and rescue officer who packaged the patient and both were extracted via hoist. The victim was transported to the BLM Helipad, then transferred to a ground ambulance.
While personnel were conducting that operation, another rescue call began in Calico Basin. Search and rescue said another subject was severely dehydrated and unable to continue on their own.
