The Screening Room Finds A New Home at Elmwood Commons

Elmwood Commons is quickly becoming a central heartbeat for the cultural community. The Screening Room – once located at the Boulevard Mall – has announced that it will be reopening at Elmwood Commons, which is fantastic news. The Screening Room will be renovating a space within the complex that will feature a 100-seat boutique cinema. They will also have access to a 250 seat auditorium for larger events.

In 2024, The Screening Room celebrated its 30 Year Anniversary!

Owned and operated by Cinema and Arts Café, The Screening Room is known to host big screen movie screenings, live music, poetry readings, and trivia and comedy nights. The organization showcases works from local filmmakers, artists, and organizations that might not otherwise have an outlet for their creative productions.

Shows at The Screening Room are unlike other screening outlets in Western New York. The setting is more like a café setting, with beer, wine, hot drinks, and snacks served. In their former location at the Boulevard Mall, people had access to comfy couches, café tables, bar stools, or traditional theater seats…
