An Indiana woman was arrested for DUI after being stopped at Wawa with loaded syringes and cut straws.
An officer on patrol at Wawa, 11770 N U.S. Hwy. 301, observed a blue Nissan passenger car parked on the north side of the lot with the engine running at 10:40 p.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. Casandra Gale-Stroud, 29, sat in the driver’s seat with a male passenger beside her.
A check of the vehicle’s registration determined the registered owner had a suspended driver’s license, so as the vehicle left its parking space, the officer approached for a traffic stop. He then walked to the vehicle and noticed Gale-Stroud was not properly seat-belted. She was unable to hand over her driver’s license and struggled to recall the middle initial of the fake name she was providing, the report said.
She also appeared extremely lethargic and nervous, with visible sweat and shaking. Her hand tremors worsened when asked about narcotics in the vehicle. Both occupants insisted on keeping the window only slightly open throughout the encounter, the report said…
