A Villager was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence after police found her SUV parked on a sidewalk outside of a restaurant at Brownwood.
Nancy Lynn Datillo, 66, who lives in the Village of Osceola Hills, was taken into custody Saturday afternoon. Datillo, who moved to The Villages from Illinois, was found sitting in the driver’s seat of a black 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe with the engine running directly across from TooJay’s Deli, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.
When an officer asked Datillo why she was parked on the sidewalk, she answered that she was “unsure.” Upon being asked for her registration, she became noticeably frustrated, made jerking motions while reaching into the glovebox and told the officer he would have to retrieve the document himself.
The officer noted the faint smell of alcohol emanating from her breath. Datillo admitted to having three or four alcoholic drinks but could not recall exactly what they were…
