BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Baton Rouge man was sentenced to 18 years in prison in connection with disposing of the body of a missing Georgia man.
According to court records, in November, Derrick Perkins, 49, pleaded guilty to unlawful disposal of remains and obstruction of justice. He previously had pleaded not guilty to charges in 2023.
In March 2023, the Baton Rouge Police Department located a body on Scenic Highway, which was later identified as Nathan Millard, 42, of Georgia. Millard was last seen in downtown Baton Rouge on Feb. 23, 2023.
