Craycroft Towers, a 74-unit public housing building that has served Tucson renters since 1976, is slated for a sweeping renovation if federal funding is approved.
According to the city’s notice of intent, Tucson’s Housing & Community Development Department plans to submit a federal funding request to HUD in the coming days, kicking off a conversion that would transfer both Craycroft Towers and the Lee Street Duplexes from the city’s Public Housing Authority to El Pueblo Housing Development, a nonprofit affiliate.
