COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Being on the northern edge of a ridge of high pressure brings an inherent chance of showers and storms. Later in the week as the ridge is more overhead, rain coverage will be lower most days and temperatures will be hotter. This could be one of our hottest stretches of summer.
Times of sun and clouds Tuesday will give way to a chance of afternoon and early evening showers and storms. Rain coverage will be around 30 to 40% with storms generally moving in from the west-northwest. Hot and muggy with highs in the low 90s and feels like temperatures near 100 degrees.
