MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) — Mount Pleasant police are warning parents about e-bike safety after officers say a group of roughly 20 kids riding e-bikes recklessly refused to stop for an officer and ran a stop sign over the weekend.
Police said an officer was patrolling Billy Swails Boulevard on Saturday when the group rode past the officer toward Hamlin Road. According to police, some of the riders appeared to entice the officer into following them and continued riding instead of stopping.
Police said the group then ran a stop sign, forcing traffic to stop to avoid a potential crash. For Mount Pleasant resident Peter August, who rides a motorcycle himself, the video of the incident was troubling…
