Laughter and squeals of delight could be heard at Glasgow Regional Park Tuesday during the grand opening of the park’s new playground – a project first envisioned about two years ago.
Construction actually began in November 2025. The previous year, New Castle County began to assess the pre-existing playground. It was determined that it would be better – and less costly – to rebuild rather than replace here and there.
“We have over 250 parks in New Castle County that we maintain and manage,” County Executive Marcus Henry said. “This, I believe, is the flagship – don’t tell the other parks that – but I believe this is the flagship for New Castle County government.”…
