HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – Court documents filed Wednesday state that the North Carolina woman charged in two separate murder investigations wants the cases tried separately.
Gudrun Linda Casper-Leinenkugel, who is facing a total of seven felony charges, filed a motion to sever the offenses on August 12, according to court documents.
Casper-Leinenkugel was indicted by a Henderson County grand jury back in January. The charges against her stem from two incidents nearly two decades apart.
Prosecutors allege that on Nov. 30, 2025, Casper-Leinenkugel poisoned wine with acetonitrile at a holiday gathering. She then allegedly served the wine to her two daughters and a daughter’s boyfriend. One of the daughters, Leela Livis, died. The other daughter and her boyfriend were sick but survived…
