FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 40-year-old man strangled the mother of a three-month-old baby until she lost consciousness in Fresno, the city’s police department says.
The incident took place on Thursday, Aug. 6, shortly before 9 p.m. in a confidential location. The victim, who was not identified, told officers she was arguing with her sister when her brother-in-law, 40-year-old Jacob Ballinger, came towards her and placed both his hands on her neck and strangled her, according to police.
Officers say Ballinger continued to strangle the victim until she lost consciousness and fell, hitting her head on a wall-mounted AC unit. Ballinger continued to strangle the victim, stopping her from moving.
The victim’s boyfriend then intervened while he was holding the couple’s three-month-old baby in his arms, police say. Ballinger then pushed the boyfriend back, causing him to drop the baby. Ballinger then left the scene…
