PLANT CITY, Fla. — A section of Alexander Street (State Road 39) south of Reynolds Street will close beginning at 5 a.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026. The Florida Department of Transportation announced the temporary closure is expected to last for approximately five days.
The road closure is required to allow CSX to perform maintenance activities on the railroad tracks in the area. Drivers will be unable to cross the CSX tracks at this location while the maintenance work is underway.
During the closure, northbound and southbound traffic on Alexander Street will be detoured using Reynolds Street, Turkey Creek Road, and Airport Road. Electronic message boards and directional detour signs will be placed along the route to guide drivers through the work zone…
