The Ridley Township community is mourning the death of retired police Capt. Scott Willoughby, 59, who died on Aug. 9.
Willoughby, who dedicated more than three decades to the department, was remembered by township officials as a public servant whose life was deeply connected to the community.
“Captain Wiloughby gave 31 years to the Ridley Township Police Department and spent his entire life in the community he protected,” reads a statement by the township’s Board of Commissioners. “That kind of commitment shapes a township. We are grateful for it, and we are thinking of his family, his friends, and his fellow officers.”…
