EUGENE, Ore. — While portions of Oregon’s forests burn, many roles go into the process of keeping them under control – one of which is lookouts, or people who live in structures on mountain peaks to look out for the first signs of fire.
But these historic structures are slowly being replaced by AI-driven cameras that serve the same purpose.
