Polk City Motorcyclist Killed After Passing Attempt Ends In Crash

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 34-year-old Polk City man died Wednesday night following a two-vehicle collision and subsequent crash into a home on Mount Olive Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

State troopers reported that the incident occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m. west of Sarah Drive. The man was operating an eastbound Honda CBR600RR at high speed behind a Kia Forte driven by a 20-year-old Polk City woman.

As the motorcyclist attempted to pass the Kia, the two vehicles collided. The impact redirected the motorcycle onto the shoulder of the roadway, where it kept moving until it struck a residence located at 5212 Mount Olive Road…
