LUDLOW, Ill. (WCIA) — A woman from Chicago was pronounced dead Friday morning following a crash on I-57 overnight.
The crash happened at 12:48 a.m. near Ludlow. Officials from the Illinois State Police said it involved two vehicles — a semi-truck and a passenger car — and multiple victims were taken to the hospital with injuries.

One person in the passenger car died from their injuries at Carle Hospital in Urbana. Champaign County Coroner Laurie Brauer identified her as 69-year-old Elease Tolar, adding that she died at 7:03 a.m. An autopsy has been scheduled.
