The 58-year-old man found dead Monday in a shed on a Spanaway property — where the next day a man allegedly set the house on fire with his mother inside — was bludgeoned and stabbed to death, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Any connection between the alleged arson and the homicide is unclear, but search warrant applications filed by law enforcement and police reports describe how the incidents overlapped as investigators worked both cases.
