Marietta parks united through Life University trail

MARIETTA — Wildwood Park and Burruss Nature Park are once again united after a trail through Life University reopened this week.

According to Parks, Recreation and Facilities Director Eric Black, Wildwood and Burruss Nature parks were originally acquired by the city through the Federal Lands to Parks program. When Burruss Nature Park was first developed, it was originally called Wildwood Park Extension.

The two parks, located on either side of Life University, next to Dobbins Air Reserve Base, were connected by a trail through the campus in 1991, and an agreement between the city and university was in effect until 2010, Black said…
