FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Mayor Jerry Dyer announced that improvements have been made to FAX Route 39 to lessen the wait time for passengers on Friday.
“Public transportation is critical in the city of Fresno,” said the mayor.
The Mayor emphasized the importance of public transportation Friday morning during his speech at the Manchester Transit Center bus stop. The mayor made this clear when he said that Route 39 carries over 1,000 people to varying destinations every day.
The upgrades to FAX Route 39 on Clinton Avenue include three new buses that cost $4.5 million, which was covered by an Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities (AHSC) grant. The upgrades are supposed to cut down a typically 30 minute wait to 15 minutes at bus stops, said the mayor.
“Riders will spend less time at bus stops and have more flexibility in being able to plan their day,” said the mayor.
