13-year-old in CYFD custody missing from Albuquerque psychiatric center

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A 13-year-old boy in state custody remains missing after CYFD said he ran from UNM’s child psychiatric center.

The Children, Youth and Families Department confirmed Friday afternoon that Andy Carrasco was still missing.

CYFD said on July 17 New Mexico State Police took Carrasco from a treatment center to the University of New Mexico Children’s Psychiatric Center because he had acute care needs. CYFD said during an internal transfer on Aug. 11, Carrasco left the facility and jumped a fence. (Read their full statement is below.)…
