Woman who tortured man with stabbings, hot grease gets 12 years

A Toledo woman who stabbed a man and then tried to set him on fire in late 2024 has entered Alford pleas to attempted murder and aggravated arson.

After hearing the Alford pleas from Indiola Howell, 38, of the 1700 block of Brownstone Boulevard, Judge Gary Cook immediately sentenced her in Lucas County Common Pleas Court to 12 years in prison.

According to a police report from the Dec. 13, 2024, incident, Howell used “a sharp instrument to stab and slice” the victim on his face, head, arms, and torso inside an apartment in the 5000 block of Southwyck Boulevard, about a mile from her home.
