A luxury hotel and spa for cats is planned for a vacant one-story office building at 5510 W. Montrose Ave. in the Jefferson-Portage Park area.
Local resident Janelle Schultz, a cat owner herself, is the owner and operator of Chicago’s first Happy Cat Hotel and Spa, a national franchise that has locations in several states. The Montrose location also would be the first one in Illinois.
“We’ll have 30 rooms, 22 of the standard rooms and eight are premium, with up to three cats” in the larger spaces for those families with multiple feline pets, Schultz said…
