‘The pool community has really showed up’: Fundraiser honors Milwaukee hit-and-run victims

GREENFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) — Friends and family of two women killed in a July hit-and-run came together Saturday, Aug. 15 for a fundraiser benefiting their families.

Amy Austin, 49, and May Daiber, 48, were killed near 20th Street and Teutonia Avenue while they were on their way to Shenanigans for karaoke night.

The two had been best friends for more than 20 years. Police say a driver in a speeding black SUV struck both women and then fled the scene.
