TROY, N.Y. (WTEN)– Today, the City of Troy created a time capsule that will hold memories of 2026 for the city to open in 50 years.
“So, we’re opening this in 2076… the capsule has photographs, documents, memorable Ilya, and stories that tell them something about who we are, what we cared about, and what Troy was like at this moment in history,” said Troy’s Mayor Carmella Mantello.

Mantello explained one clear goal of the time capsule, to preserve the year in history.
“I hope that when people when the people of Troy open this capsule in 2076, they look back at this moment and say they were building something, they were building a stronger city. They were building a safer and cleaner city. They were building a city where people could afford to live, raise the family, start a business, and built a neighborhood.”…
