COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – We’ve had a lot of heat and humidity lately, but we’re going to turn it up a couple notches for the start of the workweek thanks to a strong ridge of high pressure. Temperatures should be a little more seasonable toward the end of the week and the week as rain chances climb a bit.
Mostly sunny to partly cloudy Monday. Very hot and sweaty. 90s are expected between 11 AM and 8 PM ET. Heat alerts are in place. Forecast highs reach the upper 90s in most places; one or two may hit 100 degrees. With the humidity, it will feel hotter. That’s why heat index values will be in the 105 to 110 degree range. While there may be a few isolated showers and storms mainly between 2 and 8 PM ET, rain coverage only looks to be around 20%.
Partly cloudy Monday night with a slight chance of rain. More organized rain and storms to our north aren’t expected to make it this far south. Lows early Tuesday will be in the mid to upper 70s…
