PLANO, TX — A Plano woman died early Sunday after police say she ran across State Highway 121 and was struck by an SUV near Ohio Drive. Plano police said the crash happened just after 1 a.m. on the eastbound side of the highway. The woman was 37 years old.
Officers said she crossed the westbound lanes first and then tried to continue into the eastbound lanes, where she was hit. Plano Fire-Rescue attempted lifesaving measures at the scene. Police said she was pronounced dead there.

According to police, the SUV was traveling in the eastbound lanes when the woman entered that side of the roadway. The department did not release the woman’s name in the information provided. The location near Ohio Drive put the crash on a busy stretch of State Highway 121 in Plano.
Investigators said the driver of the SUV was not injured. Police also said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators after the collision. No other injuries were reported in the crash.
