Over 24K 911 calls, over 1K arrests reported in Bakersfield during July: BPD

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield Police Department responded to 24,527 911 calls during July and conducted 1,127 arrests.

Police said the communications center received a total of 58,933 incoming calls.

During July, BPD responded to the following calls:

  • 168 vehicle thefts
  • 1 homicide
  • 40 robberies
  • 122 aggravated assaults
  • 88 burglaries
  • 9 sexual assaults
  • 70 DUI arrests
  • 190 domestic violence reports

BPD said compared to June DUI arrests, total arrests, aggravated assault and domestic violence reports decreased. Calls for service, robberies, burglaries, vehicle thefts and homicides increased…
