BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Treasurer and Tax Collector is urging residents to pay their unsecured property taxes by the end of the month — or risk paying a fine.
The county’s tax collector, Jordan Kaufman, announced Monday that unsecured property tax bills were mailed out to residents with addresses known to the County Assessor-Recorder’s office on July 16.

The county said unsecured property tax property bills are for items including business equipment, farm equipment, aircrafts, boats and “similar assets” that aren’t attached to real estate.
