Teen driver trapped, seriously injured after Attleboro crash

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — A driver was hospitalized following a serious crash involving a utility pole in Attleboro on Monday morning.

First responders were called to the scene near West Street and Berwick Road around 8:35 a.m. Upon arrival, they found a car significantly damaged and its driver, a 19-year-old man, trapped inside.

As firefighters continued efforts to free the man using hydraulic cutting and rescue tools, paramedics worked in and around the vehicle to provide medical care and IV therapy, according to officials.

Attleboro Fire District Chief Michael Maitland described the response as a “complex call” that required crews to work in a “very confined and difficult environment.”…
