Douglas County reports 15 more cyclosporiasis cases likely tied to Taylor Farms outbreak

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The Douglas County Health Department reported 15 more cyclosporiasis cases on Monday.

Two weeks ago, DCHD had tallied the cases at 71. On Monday, health officials were reporting a total of 86 cases in the county, saying they were working with investigating the outbreak with state and federal health officials.

“Currently, evidence suggests these illnesses are likely connected to the same recalled shredded iceberg lettuce from Taylor Farms de Mexico,” Monday’s DCHD release states. “If you have recalled lettuce at home, do not eat it. Throw it away or return it to the store. Be sure to wash and sanitize any surfaces or containers the lettuce may have touched.”…
