Transportation leaders make plans for light rail stop near Charlotte Airport; what’s being proposed:

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Charlotte Douglas International Airport officials are preparing for a future light rail stop near the air transportation hub.

The train will not take you to the front door, though.

The idea is that the Silver Line light rail stop will be about a mile from the airport along Wilkinson Boulevard. Riders will have to get off the train, get on what’s called an ‘Automated People Mover,’ and take about a seven-minute ride to the terminal…
