Austell man accused of stabbing brother twice after fight over their mother

Marquis Anthony Davenport, 30, of Austell, is accused of stabbing his brother twice with an eight-inch folding pocket knife containing a three-inch blade on Aug. 6 at 6 a.m. at an apartment at 705 Whisper Trail in Austell, in The Pynes by Trion Living, according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department.

Davenport got into a physical altercation with his brother over the brother hitting their mother in the face while she was sleeping, which caused her to have a bloody nose. Davenport armed himself with the pocket knife with the blade extended, confronted his brother outside in the parking lot and stabbed him twice in the left abdomen, according to the warrant.

Davenport is charged with aggravated assault weapon; and cruelty to children – third degree. He was arrested on Aug. 6 at 12:30 p.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records…
