The severe storms that hit eastern Iowa earlier this month brought considerable damage to area corn and soybean crops – and there is a meeting tonight to help local farmers recover.
Last Tuesday morning’s derecho and the tornadic storms on Friday night, August 7th caused a wide range of damage – from bent plants to fields completely stripped of leaves, resulting in major economic and harvesting challenges.
To help farmers and landowners address these and other storm-related issues, the ISU Extension and Outreach offices in Jones and Linn counties will be holding a free public informational meeting tonight.
