Duson gets $10K grant for surveillance cameras to fight littering

DUSON, La. (KLFY) — The Town of Duson has been awarded a Keep Louisiana Beautiful Litter Enforcement Surveillance Camera Grant to help combat illegal littering and dumping through enhanced enforcement and surveillance technology, officials said.

The $10,000 grant will enable the Duson Police Department to buy surveillance cameras and related equipment to help identify those who illegally dump waste or litter, support investigations and increase enforcement of Louisiana’s litter laws, according to Duson Police Chief Kip Judice.

“This grant gives us another valuable tool to protect our community and hold those who choose to litter accountable,” Judice said. “The addition of surveillance cameras will strengthen our enforcement efforts, deter illegal dumping, and help us keep our roadsides, neighborhoods, and public spaces cleaner for everyone.”…
