MIDVALE, Utah (ABC4) — Officials have released new drone footage of an apartment fire that displaced hundreds of residents.
On July 31, a fire started at the North Union apartment complex in Midvale, destroying multiple units and displacing hundreds of residents, many of whom are still working on recovering. At this time, officials are still evaluating the full extent of the damage.

While the investigation is ongoing, Unified Fire Authority did release drone footage of the fire, providing an aerial view of the scene.
The fire reportedly started in a void space between the fourth floor and the roof of the buildings and initial information indicates that it started due to mechanical issues.
Crews were on scene around the clock for several days, fighting active flames, eliminating hot spots, and recovering pets that were unable to escape.
