Friends, former colleagues remember longtime educator who died after fall at nail salon

BARRINGTON, R.I. (WJAR) — Friends and former colleagues are mourning the loss of a longtime educator who died last week following an accident at a Barrington nail salon.

Jean Goulet, 79, spent 30 years as a teacher in the East Providence Public School District. She was enjoying her retirement when police say she suffered a fatal fall on Thursday.

According to police, Goulet was looking for the restroom at Aloha Nails, located in the Village Center on County Road, when she inadvertently opened a door to the basement and fell down a flight of stairs. Barrington Police have ruled the incident a tragic accident.
