Spokane, Wash. — The Herzog family in Spokane continues to sort through what was left of their home after the Old Trails fire as they tried to recover important belongings and prepare for a major life change.
Nonstop Local spoke with the family in a neighborhood damaged by the fire, where the home was almost completely gone. The family had spent several days digging through the ashes for jewelry left behind during the evacuation.
