AUTAUGA COUNTY, Ala. (WSFA) – A fox found near the Billingsley junction in Autauga County has tested positive for rabies, prompting state health officials to urge caution.
The animal was spotted acting abnormally and having trouble moving near the intersection of U.S. Highway 82 and Autauga County Road 1. The property owner contacted the Alabama Department of Public Health, safely euthanized the fox, and submitted it for testing.
No humans were exposed, but two vaccinated dogs were potentially exposed. All animals on property are in the process of receiving rabies booster vaccinations…
