An extreme heat warning was issued by the National Weather Service in Norman at 1:21 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19. This warning applies to Grant, Kay, Garfield, Noble, Kingfisher, Logan, Payne, Canadian, Oklahoma, Lincoln, Grady, McClain, Cleveland, Pottawatomie, Seminole, Hughes, Stephens, Garvin, Murray, Pontotoc, Coal, Jefferson, Carter, Johnston, Atoka, Love, Marshall and Bryan counties.
The NWS warns: “Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.”
