Art banners celebrating diversity coming down after vandalism in Ypsilanti park – again

YPSILANTI, MI – An art installation at an Ypsilanti park will be removed after it was vandalized for the third time.

“We feel terrible about it,” said Nancy Margolis, the executive director of Embracing Our Differences Michigan. “We have no idea who would do something like this.”

Twelve of 15 banners mounted at Riverside Park, 5 E. Cross Street in Ypsilanti, were destroyed sometime over the weekend, Margolis said. The banners are large-scale versions of art celebrating diversity, with submissions from around the world…
